Dr. Huerta graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine after dedicating the majority of her life working in the veterinary field as an assistant. In 2014, she completed interactive training through the Louisiana State Animal Response Team and strives to develop her veterinary skills to apply in times of disaster response.
After graduation Dr. Huerta practiced at a busy six-doctor hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and has refined her skills in surgery, medicine, patient care, and emergency. She recently completed a 16-hour hands-on CE course focusing on surgical skills.
Dr. Huerta has always been involved with sports since a young age and possesses great leadership skills along with a competitive nature and the mindset of a team player. Hiking, snowboarding, biking, soccer, softball, traveling and spending time with her family are a few of her favorite pastimes. She is recently married and has 4 furry critters, one of which is a Maltese mix named Falkor who was adopted after performing emergency eye surgery as a stray.
