Dr. Shannon Gaharan is a Louisiana native who earned her DVM from Louisiana State University and then completed a small animal rotating internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta. She then spent three years as a small animal general practitioner in Las Vegas before beginning her current career as a relief veterinarian in Nevada and Texas.
While attending veterinary school, Dr. Gaharan volunteered for the Louisiana State Animal Response Team, participated in the Merial Veterinary Scholars Program researching a topic in canine cardiology, and became a published author in the peer-reviewed Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery. Throughout her internship, Dr. Gaharan received extensive hands-on training with boarded specialists as well as ample experience in emergency medicine.
Dr. Gaharan is dedicated to providing the best possible patient care, whether that is in the emergency setting, during routine wellness visits, or anything in between. She enjoys interacting with clients, and adapting to the different styles of the many unique veterinary hospitals. With any free time, Dr. Gaharan enjoys watersports, crafts, live music, and most importantly spending time with family & friends. She and her husband share a home in Dallas with one sweet toddler, two dogs (both mutts from the bayous of Louisiana), and one cat (a mischievous orange tabby).
